Today's Devotional Written By A Devoted and Inspired Young Woman...Tracy Koweh

Genesis 2:25 (New International Version)

25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

Naked and Not Ashamed …….. Part II

Yesterday as I was writing the blog, the story of Adam and Eve dropped into my spirit. Then, all throughout the day I thought about Adam and how different the outcome of the world could have been, had he been man enough to take the blame for his actions, but instead he blamed Eve. For years, women have joked that if only Adam told the truth instead of pointing the finger.

Well, what if Eve was woman enough to take ownership. How different could our lives as women be- - -labor pains to name one. Eve followed the same path her husband did, she blamed the serpent. So God just decided to punish everybody in the garden. It reminds me of growing up when something in the house got broke, and no one would fess up, everybody got a beat down.

We could save ourselves and those around us a lot of time, energy and heart ache if we all learned to step up and take ownership of our faults. The Bible says that before Adam and Eve feel into sin, they were naked and NOT ashamed. When we do things out of the will of God or contrary to His word, no amount of clothes or make-up will be able to cover the true feelings on the inside, so we should just skip all the mess in the middle and deal with the root of the problem head on.

I don’t normally play the “what if” game, but just for thinking purposes……….”What if” Adam or Eve had just admitted the truth to God. “What if” He would have shown His merciful side and given them and mankind another chance right there in the garden. The ironic thing is this- - -the more we try to hide from God, the greater the exposure when the truth comes out.

So, today as we continue to own up to our own faults and choices, let’s begin to get naked before the Lord. Let us strive to live a life were we can be naked and not ashamed.
