Words Of Encouragement For Your Day ( Tuesday 11/13/2012)

Seeing Through The Eyes Of God
Luke 8:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 He said to them, To you it has been given to [come progressively to] know (to recognize and understand more strongly and clearly) the mysteries and secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that, [though] looking, they may not see; and hearing, they may not comprehend.
My husband and I recently became a part of a corps of leaders in our church, when we were commissioned we received a ribbon, at first glance all I could see was the color, it was orange.  Not being a fan of orange, I had read the words on the ribbon but in another way, I had missed it totally.  When I got home I hung up the suit I had on the day of commissioning with the ribbon still affixed to it, I hung it in a place that I could still see it.  I woke up the next morning and began to pray, when I had finished and opened my eyes I looked up to see this orange ribbon, again distracted by the color, I was missing what was significant.  I was told to look at the ribbon and read it, I read the words, “VICTORY,” I thought to myself, wow. I heard so clearly in my spirit now every time you see this ribbon remember I have given you the victory, out of all the groups you could have fallen under, I chose for you and your husband to be in victory, The strongest of statements that can be made by a believer, that we live in victory, because of our choice to follow God and seek Him in earnest while resting in His promises.  So now when I feel a little off I look over to that suit hanging and see VICTORY and I am reminded God gave it to me, no one can take it away, and it is I who can only surrender it, through fear, doubt or unbelief.
Often times we can see something and totally miss the point that God is speaking, because we are distracted by the esthetics, or the packaging.  My grandmother when I was learning to cook, every time I had a cake that fell my grandmother would say, it’s the ugly cakes that taste the best.  It was truth.  It seemed as if any mishap produced the best tasting cakes. It is same thing in life; often we are so affixed on the natural appearance and whether it is appealing to our senses, and not our spirit.  We are more in tuned to our natural being and what soothes our emotions and flesh instead of consulting God to see things through his eyes.  Many of us are lop sided because we are flesh and natural heavy, and spirit, word and God centered light.  We have a tendency to lean to our understanding and forget about God’s understanding and what He really intends.  We forget that everything is not always what we see, but if we seek God, His mysteries and promises the things that are not obvious to all, will be obvious to us because these things only become clear to those who will seek after Him.  If we take a moment to stop the world and we get off ( I just mean to put the flesh and emotions down to seek God) we will find ourselves surprised as what we see, what God reveals to us, and how He speaks to us through His word, other people and even nature.  But if we are so plugged in to how we feel and what we will see we will often miss God and seeing things the way He means them to be.
Take a moment today, and every day to seek God especially when things look a bit ugly and they are not appealing to our eyes, ask God to show you what it is that He means by what you are seeing and what surrounds you.  God’s see us so vastly different than we see ourselves but He also sees our lives and the things that we see and go through differently.  All too often we allow our minds to alter the truth, instead of allowing God to alter our state of being and seeing.  If we seek God first, we will see things differently than how they appear to most.  See, but see through the eyes of God and not through the eyes that grace your face; seeing through your spirit you will see truth and not the things that seek to deceive you into accepting anything less than God’s best for your life!
