It’s The Beginning But It’s The End
Ecclesiastes 7:8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning of it, and
the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Yesterday was the beginning of a New
Year; before the previous year closed, my husband and I began to seek God and
pray about the New Year. We had seen a
lot of challenges last year, and as most do we looked to the New Year to bring the
possibility of relief or change. As we
studied the numerical significance and sought God’s knowledge, wisdom,
understanding and insight, we came to understand that it had little to do with
the year beginning and all to do with, what God was bring to a close or an
end. My husband had been encouraging me
towards the end of the year to finish strong.
As we sat in watch night service, Bishop confirmed that word in a form;
He remind us that God was about to give the blessing to those who had been
looked over and missed and continued to hang in there with God till the end and
change came.
You
see my husband and I found when we had it easy and we had all we needed and
wanted it was easy to serve, sow and steward; but it is when we are challenged
in not only our faith, but our health, finances, and relationships (with
others) and still serve God that it is here where it makes all of the
difference, to God. It is when your road
is filled with obstacles, filled with sorrow, pain or difficulties, and we
still remain in the presence of God without shutting down or just fold our arms
and saying “I am not talking to God right now, I am not hearing Him or obeying
His will for me right now,” that God sees our willingness to abide in Him, regardless
or come what may and He understands our devotion and love for Him. It is here God
desires to do the exceedingly abundantly above all that we can think or ask and
He will begin to pour out favor, protection and blessings upon our lives. When God understands that we may need His
blessings, but we need Him more, He moves to set the wrongs right and to place
us in a posture and arenas that bring forth His will and allows His abundance
to be poured forth over us.
One
of my dearest and best sistafriends sent a text New Year’s day that posed a
question, “in 2013, who is in control of our life; is it me or the King?” When
God is in control and is our first love, we will not get going when the going
gets rough or tough, we will get to pressing into the presence of God and
seeking Him; He is our first call not our last, our first source not our last
resource. When God is in control we
understand that finishing well is more important than starting strong and being
about a lot of talk. You see anyone can
talk a “God game,” but it takes one who is chasing after God that will stand
and still give God honor, praise, and glory even when it isn’t pretty. When we can endure to the end of a season,
that sets us up for the blessing that no man can imitate or produce; we are in
a position for miracles and the righteousness of God abiding in us and over our
actions. Don’t look at the beginning as
a way out, but look at finishing, completing strong and in God’s will so that
He can give you a new beginning that blows your mind and brings Him Glory!
