Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day ( Friday 12/05/08)

Are You Suffering From Malnutrician?
Deuteronomy 8:3 (Amplified Bible)
3And He humbled you and allowed you to hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you recognize and personally know that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.
I remembering being up late one night and a commercial came on, yes it was a "Feed the Children" infomercial. They were introducing these wonderful children that had not enough to eat and did not have the medical care necessary to sustain life. There was of a baby barely holding on to life and flies swarming around the child's face. Your heart just sinks to now that, this child lacks the nutritional substance to sustain them, and it is likely if they do not receive food soon they will die. As I watched these images I can sense in my spirit these words coming forth, "how many of us are suffering from spiritual malnutrition. How many of us lack the spiritual nutrition to sustain life?"
More often than not, we are suffering from spiritual malnutrition and we do not even realize when it set in or that we are dying as a result if it. We go to God for so many things, but how many of us seek Him because of who he is, and not for what He can do for us or give us. Our focus is the natural so much more than it is the spiritual. In Matthew 6:33, it reads "But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides." If we could just grasp the magnitude of feeding our soul and our spirits first before we are aspiring to fill our homes, driveways, and even refrigerators, we would have so much more. If we would learn to eat of the tree of life, the bread of life and the things pertinent to sustaining us spiritual, we would live, not just spiritually, but that God would pour out unto us the blessing that are relevant to sustaining us in the natural. If we would learn to read God's word, to have a real love relationship with Him and to apply obedience to things we are asked to do. It is then we would experience the joys of being fat and happy, instead of lean and very mean ( and not in a good way).
It is time to start eating the whole scroll. The scroll that leads to righteousness, and being fully persuaded that God is and should be the one in control of our lives and the one who we get full on first. Don't sit there with all that you need to sustain you right in front of you and you not eat of it!
