God can Show ‘em
Better than you can Tell ‘em
Proverbs 20:22 Amplified Bible
22) Do not say, I will repay evil; wait [expectantly] for the Lord, and He will rescue you.
Proverbs 20:22 New Living Translation
22) Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.
I remember growing up as a child and hearing my mother say, “Baby, some people just have to learn the hard way.” As I got older I recall becoming “some people”. I remember the lessons that I had to learn because I simply would not listen to the testimonies of people before me. I guess I didn’t believe the warnings that people tried to tell me. I knew who I was, and what I wanted to do and no one was going to stop me.
Now that I am a mother I find myself saying some of the same things to my 20 month old. She is so head strong at times I think, she’s going to learn the stove is hot one day because she is going to put her hands in the fire. I’ve learned that sometimes her experiences teach her a whole lot more than my mere words can, and most times it shows her a lot quicker.
When it comes to our spiritual lives and our daily encounters with other people sometimes we just need to shut up and let God be our mouth piece. There are some people who will never hear us, receive from us, or understand us. We can talk until our lips can not move anymore, and at the end of the day, they still won’t hear us. As Christians we often want the world to know whose we are and how good the God we serve is, but God doesn’t need our lip service. He needs us to stay focused and faithful to Him. Trying to please man or prove something to him will only defer us from our destiny.
If we just let God do what he is doing, and use our tongues to Praise Him and not defend ourselves, He will raise us up for all of our enemies to see. When Judas betrayed Jesus, Jesus didn’t go after Judas physically or verbally, he went straight to the Father. Remember, Jesus knew all along that Judas was going to betray Him, and He did not ONCE try to talk him out of it. Jesus prayed about it and gave it to God. He carried His cross ( in front of thousands of spectators and haters), but He only looked up to the heavens for His rescue. God did raise Jesus up……………………………but Jesus had to DIE first. Have you died to self, so that God can raise you up?
