Knocked Down But Not Knocked Out
Deuteronomy 28:1-10 Amplified Bible (AMP)
1IF YOU will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God. 3Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the field. 4Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock.5Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading trough. 6Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed shall you be when you go out. 7The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouse and in all that you undertake. And He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you. 9The Lord will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name [and in the presence of] the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.
Today as I posted the devotionals on my Facebook, page I began to read through many post that were on my page. As I read through these posts they served as it was the evidence of a challenging day, for many. But it wasn’t just Facebook, I had received text messages and phone calls that it appeared that the enemy was having a day in the win column, between physical attacks, marital discord, unfair court decisions, attacks on the mind and even social, work and family attacks, today was a day, people were exhausted and feeling their faith being tested or stretched depending on how they looked at it. I was definitely not excluded in this process, trust me when I say, I had my fair share of challenges today, as well. It hit me that we may be knocked down but not knocked out. We may have taken a hit today, but, My God has already declared a different outcome!
As I began to think and meditate, on all that had been said, and all that did go wrong, not just appear to go wrong today in the lives of so many, I could feel almost an intolerance rise up, and a thought that this is not the will of God for any of us, so we have the right to send these things back, undelivered or ineffective in our lives. Just as the Children of Israel were considered the underdogs in their exodus from Egypt and their pursuit to enter the Promise land, God gave them just as He gave us the ability to stand up, get up, and be victorious no matter what. In those moments I had to realize once again, who I was and who said He was before me, and with me in this journey and pursuit, God, the Father, The Almighty, The One That Is And Will Always Be, The One That Is The I Am, The All Knowing, Ever Present, and All Powerful God. Truly there is no God like Jehovah! I just needed to ensure that I was doing my part in service, obedience, living and pursuit of Him and the enemies that may have tried to overtake me will have to flee seven ways and that the blessings that He intends for my life, no one could take them, it is only I who could surrender them, if I chose to neglect God’s standards or promises, which I do NOT intend to do.
We go through life fighting for so much. We get knocked down, disappointed, hurt and misused, but what are we going to do, the choice is always ours to make. Will we allow the enemy and people to steal our joy dismantle our peace or derail the promises of God over our lives or will we decide to live the life that keeps us in the will of God and gives us the ability and equips us to fight and win? We may be down today, we may feel as if we took a shot to the head, but it does not have to be a shot that takes us out, it can be the shot that makes us more determined to get what God has for us, and make the enemies in our lives depart, scatter and be removed. We have the power because of who we are “In Christ” and what He has declared over each of us!
