Its Cutting Season
Luke 13:6-9 Amplified Bible (AMP)
6And He told them this parable: A certain man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it, but did not find [any]. 7So he said to the vinedresser, See here! For these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree and I find none. Cut it down! Why should it continue also to use up the ground [to deplete the soil, intercept the sun, and take up room]? 8But he replied to him, Leave it alone, sir, [just] this one more year, till I dig around it and put manure [on the soil]. 9Then perhaps it will bear fruit after this; but if not, you can cut it down and out.
Wikipedia defines seasons as: “A season is a division of the year, marked by changes in weather, ecology, and hours of daylight. Seasons result from the yearly revolution of the Earth around the Sun and the tilt of the Earth's axis relative to the plane of revolution. In temperate and polar regions, the seasons are marked by changes in the intensity of sunlight that reaches the Earth's surface, variations of which may cause animals to go into hibernation or to migrate, and plants to be dormant.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-11 says, “1TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: 2A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted, 3A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down and a time to build up, 4A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6A time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away, 7A time to rend and a time to sew, a time to keep silence and a time to speak,8A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. 9What profit remains for the worker from his toil? 10I have seen the painful labor and exertion and miserable business which God has given to the sons of men with which to exercise and busy themselves.11He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”
Seasons are something we understand that happen in our lives, but for most of us we don’t take the time to understand what God is doing in the seasons that we enter. We latch on to sayings like I am in a season of release, This is my season of jubilee, A season of harvest, I am in a season of preparation, I am in a season of silence, but really what is this season really, and what is it meant to do in us, those are many times the questions that we want to skip over to get to the end of that season especially if it is an uncomfortable season, all we want to do is get through it, without even consulting God to find out why we are there and what is suppose d to be accomplished in us. All too often we are praying for people around us to change, but our seasons are not about other people they are about us. They aren’t about people’s treatment of us it is about our maturity, our reactions and our responses, it is about God taking us somewhere, building in us something or making manifest in us something that is necessary for His will to be made manifest. So many of us are crying because we are in a place and we don’t seem to be receiving change and we haven’t taken a minute to let God work on us, we are so busy trying to manipulate people, situations and circumstance to get where we want to be instead of letting God work on us, cut us open and remove some things and in many times people that come along with those things and behaviors. How can God give you what He desires for us, if we are still holding on to what we want and the method by how we assume it should come. I am not saying our hearts desire is not in the will of God, but if we never let Him cut what is not His will, by cutting some behaviors, attitudes, methods, mindsets and people out of our life our season is going to seem as if it is a torture and not a season. Season are always identified by change in the atmospheres and transition, even in the earth so why are we under the assumption that we can be in a season and we do not have produce anything that is transitional in nature and we don’t have to change? Growth, movement, expansion, receiving it all requires CHANGE!!!
Cutting season is not about others it is about us, it’s about us cutting the foolishness in our selves, it is about us letting God cut out what isn’t right in His eyes, it is about the unproductive, toxic, unsanctified, unholy things being cut out of us and off of us. I told God and my husband anything and anyone that is not edifying to Him (God) and helping to uplift, or encourage or add to, it is time to allow it to be cut from our lives and our circle. Yes, we are all in some season, yes each one of us, and many of us are in seasons that cut, cut down things we once thought were important, things that have been damaging, and things that been idolatrous in nature and have been placed over God, Him getting His Glory and being first in our lives. If you want to know why you are in the same place waiting on the same answers, it is probably because you are in a season of cutting but instead of you allowing God to do the cutting you are the one trying to do it. It really is not about anyone else but you. So stop trying to make it be about everyone else, and cutting them off, it’s about what is in us that is baring no fruit, when that is cut away so will all of those people that come with those behaviors, attitudes and mind sets.
