Today’s Devotional Is Written By a Young Woman That I am Sure God Knows Her Name: Tracy Koweh…
Who Knows Your Name?
Isaiah 8:3 (Amplified Bible)
3And I approached [my wife] the prophetess, and when she had conceived and borne a son, the Lord said to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz [as a continual reminder to the people of the prophecy],
Last week on The View, the ladies were discussing why social networking sites are so popular. The expert guest that they had on the show, replied it was because people wanted to go “where everybody knew their name”. Of course most of us remember this from the hit sitcom show Cheers.
I reflected a moment on how true that statement really was. So many famous people are known for the simplest things. Paris Hilton’s name is known because of her parents and an adult tape that leaked.
It’s so sad that we don’t live so that God remembers our name. We don’t wake up every morning with the expectation to get God’s attention. In the Bible some are mentioned by name (Noah, David, Job….), but some are just mentioned as an after thought or fact being stated.
Today let us decide to get heavens attention. To be known by all on Earth while your alive, and not recognized by God in death is a horrible thing. Let us live so that when God takes a moment to look down on Earth, He points and says………..there goes (fill in your name) my good and faithful servant.
