Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day ( Monday 10/05/09)

Today’s Devotional Written By A Young Woman That Is Speaking To Her Generation Clearly: Tracy Koweh

Whose Hands Are Holding Your Heart????

Deuteronomy 11:13-15 (New Living Translation)

13 “If you carefully obey all the commands I am giving you today, and if you love the Lord your God and serve him with all your heart and soul, 14 then he will send the rains in their proper seasons—the early and late rains—so you can bring in your harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil. 15 He will give you lush pastureland for your livestock, and you yourselves will have all you want to eat.

Today’s message in the music comes from Laura Izibor’s song “From My Heart to Yours”. In the song she is telling the man in her life that from her heart she is giving him everything that she possible can. She tells him that she is giving him her heart, her soul, her time, her everything. There is a part in the song that she says no matter where she goes or what she sees, he is still the most important thing to her. In the end of the song she says I need you and I can’t live without you.

This song is the perfect instruction booklet on how we should be with God. He should be our EVERYTHING. We should give Him our heart, our mind, our time, our soul, our EVERTHING. No matter where we find ourselves in life, no matter how good or bad, no matter the trial, test or circumstance we find ourselves in……….He should still be the most important thing in our lives. We all have at least one person that we would do anything for. A parent, a significant other, a spouse, a friend, a child, and the list goes on………..but no matter how much we love them, our heart should belong to God, first and foremost. God gave us His all first- - - -His love, His grace, His mercy, His compassion, His Holy Spirit, His victory, and the thing most precious to Him…..His heart- -Jesus Christ.

Today as we begin this new work week, let us decide to truly and uncompromisingly give our hearts to God. If we turn over our hearts to Him, everything else will fall into place. When we make God our first priority, He will do the same for us. When we surrender our all to Him, He will be free to release all that He has for us. Happy Heart Handling……………
