T.G.I.F……….Tell God It’s Finished

John 19:28 (Amplified Bible)

28After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished (ended), said in fulfillment of the Scripture, I thirst.

A few weeks ago God had me strategically send three very special women in my life a series of daily text messages in the morning. To me it was a simple act of obedience but for the ladies receiving them, they were words of encouragement, hope and a sign that God knew what they needed and hadn’t given up on them. Well, as the week closed out He told me to tell them………….T.G.I.F….Tell God It’s Finished.

I had just dropped Jai off at school when He spoke the words into my spirit and what a release I had felt. I instantly got the revelation He was giving me. Not that what I was going through was over, but that my part in fixing it was. To tell God it’s finished means to turn it all over to Him. No matter the outcome or the journey to get there. To tell God it’s finished, means your finished trying to handle it, correct it, understand it, change it or alter it. It means that you are finished messing with His plan, His purpose, and your destiny.

Letting go of our power in any situation is hard to do. Giving up the little sense of control we have is a difficult process, because we move into a place of the unknown. We don’t know what’s next, or what is waiting around the next corner. But when we get to a place where we can trust God, it moves us into a position of peace. Because even though we don’t know all of what God’s plan entails, we know that He is faithful to see us to the end.

Today as we head into the weekend, let us let go of our fears, our false control over the situation, our judgments, our thoughts, and our interference with His blueprint. Most times when we attempt to “help” God, all we do is “hinder” ourselves. Today, let us be finished with trying to help God, and let us begin to just let Him have His way.
