Hebrews 13:5-6 (Amplified Bible)
5Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God]Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] 6So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?
Wednesday night at gender specific Bible Study, a woman got up and shared her very powerful testimony with the ladies about her childhood with a distant father. Not distant in the physical but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. She recalled being taught not to show emotions to others, not to allow herself to be vulnerable, and never to let others know she cared.
She went on to tell that the husband God sent her is the EXACT opposite. He never leaves home without saying good-bye, he always gives her a hug and a kiss, and no matter how she acts…………he always shows her love. Now by this time we all are sitting there in awe that a human like this exists, but then came the bomb shell. One day he tells her, “I’ll never divorce you. If you want to leave, I won’t stop you. If you leave and decide to come back, I’ll be right here. But no matter what you do, I’ll never leave you.”
I could end the blog right there, but I won’t without reminding someone today that what that man spoke to his wife, is EXACTLY what God is saying right now to you. He wants me to remind you that no matter the storms or trails that you are going through He will never divorce you. If you decide to leave, He won’t stop you. If you decide to come back, He’ll be right there with open arms. But no matter what you do, He’ll never leave you. Sometimes this walk with God is hard, unfair, misunderstood, and down right unbearable…………..but it’s in these times when we need to be reminded that God is there. When we can’t see Him, hear Him, or understand what He is doing…………He is still there. God gave me the words for this Friday’s blog last week, and this morning He changed the agenda just for you. He wanted you to know, that you’re worth just that much to Him. He decided to send you a word to remind you that He is right there with you. Hold on and don’t give up when you’re so close to the end.
Today as we prepare to head into the weekend, let us request physical evidence that God is still with us. Let us bang on heaven’s door until God reaches down and touches those areas in our lives that are trying to kill our joy, rob us of our destiny, and flat out take us down. Let us strive to get to a point where we can tell God…………..we are here too stay!!!!!!!
