LET Me Love You.....The Finale :o)
Romans 5:8 (Amplified Bible)
8But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.
So all jokes aside, I am truly thankful today that God loves us enough, that He would use not just one day- - -but an entire week to express His us to love. I have a friend who has been through a lot in her life, and I joke with her that she hasn't gotten the message that God doesn't like her. I call her the Job of 2009, but in all honesty I am continually amazed at her faith, commit and dedication to God. She is constantly thanking God for His strength and His love and His blessings in her life, despite all of the hell around her.
Well, God has blessed her with a true angel on Earth. He is everything she could ever imagine and then some. As I stated earlier in the week, this man doesn't fit into the mold of men SHE would have normally been attracted to, but he was the perfect fit for GOD's purpose and destiny in her life. Its still shocking to me that we haven't learned that although, His ways are not our ways, they are always so much better. Well, after being beat down and abused for so long by men, she is having a hard time being able to accept that its all real, and an even harder time receiving it. Of course I yelled at her and told her she better snap out of it. Told her to see and trust that God is finally answering prayers because she moved out of the way, AND she kept her promise to God that she would stay true to who she was. When you have been a chameleon for people for so long, its hard to believe when you meet someone who loves you JUST THE WAY GOD MADE YOU.
So as I shared a bit of this story with Shane, his respond stung me a bit. He said “You are the same way, you won't just let me love you.” I wanted to get mad, but couldn't. The truth of his words began another level of healing in me. Within minutes of his statement, the Holy Spirit said the same thing. So many times in life we either try to “earn” God's love or we feel like we are too bad of a person to be loved by such an awesome Creator. The truth is that God loves us all. The sinner the saint. The drunk and the liar. His salvation and love is available to all of us, but we have to choose to receive it. We have to know that although we don't deserve it, won't ever be able to earn it, its there for us to have.
Today as you head into the weekend, LET God do what He does best, and what He loves to do.......love on you. His love is for all of us. You can't be too bad, too poor, too dumb, too lost, too quiet, too tall, too rich, too smart, too loud, too arrongant, too prideful, too depressed, too wrong or too you fill in your blank to receive His love. He may be at your door knocking and ready to enter.......but you have to open the door and LET Him come in.
