His Amazing Love
Ephesians 5:2 (New Living Translation)
2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us[a] and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
Today's message in the music comes from Luther Vangross's song "So Amazing". The overall theme of the song is about finding a love so true, so pure and so unconditional that it would cause a person to follow someone else to the moon just to be with them. Since starting this series "message in the music" I haven't been able to just listen to a song for pure enjoyment anymore. My spirit is always listening for that moment that makes me say, "that’s a blog". So as I was singing along to this song a few week ago, God put a special couple on my heart.
Although I am a loan officer, I happen to work at a branch located inside of a hospital. So a few months ago I had an encounter that would change my life forever. I met a young Italian woman, Daniela, who was preparing for her wedding. She had the glow of any fiancée who was about marry the person of their dreams. Her mother and a cousin from
Well, over the past few weeks God has used me and Shane to be a blessing to them. They have almost no family or friends here but their attitude would never tell you that. They are always thanking me and Shane, but the truth be told, they have blessed us far more than anything we could buy them, cook them or bless them with. To watch her be the reason he continues to fight and to see the way she kisses him, calls him pet names, and smile with every passing day is truly amazing. The love between them is nothing I've ever seen before. When she looks at him, she doesn't see the cancer, she sees the man. She sees the love of her life. She doesn't ask for anything, and I've never heard her complain. Her home is literally his military hospital room, but its home because they are together.
Their example of love is one I'll cherish in my heart always, because it’s a perfect example of Christ's love. When Jesus looks at us, He doesn't see the adultery, the liar, the abuser, the rapist, the molester, the drunk, the addict, the gossiper, the hypocrite. He sees the love of His life. He sees us as covered by His blood. He sees the best in us, when the world sees the worst. He sees our potential and not our downfall. He sees our future, despite our past. Today except His amazing love, put down your own will, and follow Him. Christ's love won't ever let you down, but it can and will pull you up and push you into your destiny.
