Everything…You Are Everything To Me…
Exodus 3:14 (Amplified Bible)
14And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you!
Monday night as I listened to Tye Tribbett minister at His CD release concert He said something profound, that reminded me of just how vast and spectacular God is. He said “God is ALL that we need Him to be, He is anything that we need, when He told Moses that He was I am in turn, He was saying that I am whatever you need for me to be.” If we need a healer, He is. If we need a friend, He is. If we need a deliverer, He is. If we need a Savior, He is. If we need a Provider, He is. He is ANYTHING, and I do mean ANYTHING, that we need Him to be. You know when we are hurting, or feeling out of sorts, or in the midst of going through something heavy and God gets silent on us, we have a tendency to forget that He is still, EVERYTHING, that we need Him to be. In spite of if we see Him or not, hear Him or not, He is still working and He is still moving on our behalf. He is still right there, and He is still ALL that we need Him to be, and He will manifest His presence and what we need of Him, in His timing, and it is ALWAYS right on time, it is right when we need Him most!
Psalms 46:1 says, “GOD IS our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.” God is a well proven source. He is not a resource He is the source from which all good and all power flows from. But the key point is do we see God as our everything, or is He just our something. For too many of us God is the one we run to when things are going crazy, or when we have a need, but I have come to know that God is like air, we need Him just that much. Without air we could not live, air is one of those essentials, like water, it is a basic need for us to survive. God should be seen as that to us, an essential need that we must have to survive. Yes you can live without Him, but when we choose to we will be lacking so much, we will not have EVERYTHING that we need, because we do not have HIM! I have seen some times within my life that I did not know how I would make it for the pain that I was enduring, but when I lay prostrate before the Lord, and I begin to feel His presence surround me or over shadow, me, it was like in those moments I realized that He was my life giver. I remember being very ill about a year and half ago, and being frustrated, because it was weighing on my emotions, my mind and my resources, and God made a way, and turned situations around and opened doors that no man could have opened. He moved people and elements to ensure that I was taken care of. Even in the midst of emotional pain, God has encouraged my heart through His Word and through my prayer time, He is my best friend and my comforter. When people by their words and behaviors have torn me down, treated me less than I deserve and said by the actions that I was less than the time of day that I should be paid, God reminded me that I was His daughter, I was the apple of His eye, made in His image and that I was fierce and that He loves me with an everlasting love, a love that caused Him to give His best for me, in order to give me a second chance at life, through His son Jesus Christ.
When things look all wrong, or even all right, remember that God is right there and He is EVERYTHING that you need Him to be. God is not like people, He will never let you down, or leave you in lack or in hurt, He will always, give us what we need; it may not always be what we want, but always what He knows that we need. We only need to recognize Him for who He is and understand that He is ANYTHING we need Him to be when we need for Him to be. He is a proven and present source. He is God all by HIMSELF, no assistance needed and no assembly required!
