What’s Manifesting In Your Atmosphere?
1 Kings 17:22-24 New Living Translation (NLT)
22 The Lord heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived! 23 Then Elijah brought him down from the upper room and gave him to his mother. “Look!” he said. “Your son is alive!” 24 Then the woman told Elijah, “Now I know for sure that you are a man of God, and that the Lord truly speaks through you.”
A few years back a song hit the Gospel and Christian music scene by Byron Cage, “The Presence of The Lord is Here.” The identifier in the song “I feel it in the atmosphere, the presence of the Lord is here.” There is another song that we sing in worship, and it says, “I shall have, what I decree, yes I believe it belongs to me. Speak into the atmosphere.” I have found recently the importance in identifying what and even who is in my atmosphere. I have learned that everything that seems good isn’t necessarily good for us. It is important that our lives are in a posture that we can speak to God and gain His attention and an audience. Many times we surround ourselves with things that hinder what manifest in our atmosphere, because these things are in our atmosphere hindering God’s movement. Recently in my life, I have had people intentional seek to hurt me, even after I had not done things to them, that I could have and was in my legal right to do. But I had to come to the realization the other day when things hit the fan and the enemy began to show up, that this person and what I had allowed was a hindrance to God’s movement in my atmosphere. My husband was kind enough to remind me that I had just written in a devotional God is taking out the trash in our lives.
This is a season that to gain the manifestation in our situation and atmosphere we have to first begin to see what is in our lives that is hindering our audience with God and us being able to speak and God respond. We have to be honest with ourselves, and place ourselves before God and let Him show us what trash is in our lives. Trash is not just wrong people; it is wrong thinking, wrong confession, compromised living, wrong attitude, and unforgiveness. It is then we can get to a place of asking God to fill us again, a new a fresh, and place in us the words that need to be confessed, spoken and declared. It is then that we can speak and God hears and responds. It is in this posture that when we speak that we are able to speak the oracles of God and He will move on our behalf. God is wanting for us to understand the level of authority in which is available to us. But He wants us to understand the process by which we obtain and can walk in that level of authority within our atmosphere. All too often we are wasting confessions, declarations and prayers because we have so much junk, so much trash, so many people, behaviors and attitudes that are present in our atmosphere that there is not room for God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit or the things of God. It is the time and the season that we need to let God give us a Spiritual cleaning, for some of us still God needs to give us a Spiritual enema and clean us all the way out so that He can reside and be present in our atmosphere so we can speak and see His power manifested in our lives.
What is in our atmosphere? What is manifesting around us and through us? Who have we allowed to stay in our atmosphere that won’t allow God to reside with or manifest in our lives because of it? God is desirous to have us in His atmosphere and have His power manifested in our atmosphere but we have to be willing to allow GOD to take out the trash, purge our hearts, minds, spirits and lives in order for us to receive all that we have need of and to abide in a place of power and authority. He wants us to be able to speak, and it be His words and His authority being identified, not just empty words and confessions and useless entities. We want the presence of the Lord and Spirit of the Lord being felt and seen in our atmosphere, we want to be able to speak into our atmosphere, to be able to declare, claim, and have it become ours, but the question is what are we willing to do to adjust us to ensure our atmosphere is conducive to God living in us and we in Him? What are we willing to do to us having the authority that belongs to us? What things are we willing to release and let Him purge and cleanse from our lives? Our atmosphere depends upon our willingness to allow the process that clears a path from God to us, and us to Him!
