Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Monday 09/12/2011)

Understanding The Nature Of My Feelings

Malachi 1:1-2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
1THE BURDEN or oracle (the thing to be lifted up) of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi [My messenger].  2I have loved you, says the Lord. Yet you say, How and in what way have You loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? says the Lord; yet I loved Jacob (Israel),

Last night I went to bed with a headache and this morning unfortunately I woke up with the same headache.  As I lay in bed wanting, willing and praying this headache to go away; I began to meditate on God and I could hear the words of Patti La Belle’s song “If Only You Knew, “ringing within me.  The part I kept hearing was the chorus that says, “If only you knew how much I do, do love you. If only you knew how much I do, I do need you.”  But then when I was able to get my head off the pillow I felt lead to go and read through the remaining lyrics, the second verse hit with precision, when it said, “I dream of moments we share but you’re not there…I'm living in a fantasy. Cause you don't even suspect, could probably care less… about the changes I been going through.”  Isn’t it funny how when we don’t get what we need whether from God or a human we feel some kind of way and we want some time compassion and love given to us, sent our way, but when we neglect to understand how much God loves us, and we don’t take the time to get to know Him and see to His needs, why do we think He is not feeling something about that?
We are made in God’s image.  God is a jealous God and He doesn’t like it nor does He appreciate it when we put things and people in front of Him, sound familiar?  God wants the best for us, He loves us and He wants nothing more to be center stage in our life, but for all too many of us, we will not even give Him access, He is in the nose bleed seats, when all the while He has blessed us, kept us, provided for us, healed us, delivered us and just over all remembered us.  God should not have to live in a state of fantasy dreaming of the day we will need Him, whether we realize it or not we need Him now, right here, right now, today!  If we understood and respected God for who He is the dynamics of our relationship with Him would change drastically.  If we really put into perspective that Calvary could have been our experience, because that was what our penalty was for the sins we have committed, but God allowed His Son to pay that price for us we would wake up in a different state of mind, heart and spirit.  We would have a zeal and motivation to run after God chasing after Him, hunting Him down, stalking him if need be to get time with him, so we did not neglect Him and that we made sure that He understood how much we loved, needed and appreciated Him. But we don’t, for many of us; God is only as good as His last major performance or bail out in our lives.  What if God looked down with all that He has down for us and all that He feels towards us knowing that He created us and said well I am going to only respond to them when they everyday acknowledge me, or pay their tithes or honor me with their lives.  Most of us would be in a world of hurt.
Have you taken time to become a God chaser to understand the love He has for you?  Have you spent time just telling Him thank you without asking for anything but His love? If only we understood the nature of His love and what He thinks of us, we would understand that God’s plans are good, His ways are right, and better, and His thoughts even for us and about us are beyond what we could think or want for ourselves, we would be different with Him, we wouldn’t leave Him hanging. We would notice Him, and He would never be on the outskirts looking in, we would place Him right smack dab in the center of all we do.  Many of us are struggling with that because we don’t want to allow God preeminence over our lives, because we have adopted so many ways of doing things and treating people that to have to surrender that junk would about kill us. But again if we only understood the nature of God and who He is we would understand that holding on to those things and keeping God in a box in our lives, in a place of isolation where we only see him on visiting days (ie when we need Him to bail us out) we would know that we are not living in a place of destiny, purpose and abundance, we are living beneath what God has and desires for us.  So, I would love to know isn’t it time you knew how much God loves you and How much He really desires real relationship and fellowship with you?
