Lord I Am Trying!
John 5:6-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
6When Jesus noticed him lying there [helpless], knowing that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, Do you want to become well? [Are you really in earnest about getting well?] 7The invalid answered, Sir, I have nobody when the water is moving to put me into the pool; but while I am trying to come [into it] myself, somebody else steps down ahead of me. 8Jesus said to him, Get up! Pick up your bed (sleeping pad) and walk!
I have been in a challenging season. The more I press and run for God and His will the more people act crazy and things around me seem to be unraveling and going totally insane on another level. The more I press to pay my tithes the more bills come in and the more things keep popping up. The more I have had people’s back, the more those same people seem to turn on me and hurt me. I got to a place today, where I said, “But Lord I am trying.” I am trying to do what is right, and trying to keep my focus, I am trying to stay right in your sight and keep in the press, but it seems like the more I have been trying the more things have been getting in the way and stopping me from reaching the goals and the positioning that I know I desire and that is a part of God’s will.
As my husband and I were talking I realized that the trying, the press, the push, the perseverance and the pursuit are all a part of the process. Irritants and pressure cause us to become more valuable, more precious and more durable. But also sometimes God is trying to take us out of our normal routine and process. He is attempting to push us into another posture and another position that enables Him to see how really sold out we are, and how we really are dependent upon Him alone. It is also in these times that He is trying to let us know that the way that we have been looking, or the way we have been focused on is not the way, He intends to come. Just as sudden as sudden can be, or quicker than quick, for many of us Jesus is going to show up and take us from being looked at or seen as the one who is lame and useless, the one to be pushed aside and the one that is the underdog, to a position that He has ordained long ago, the position that allows people to know who we really are and who we belong to. It will shut the mouth of those who have talked about us, and damaged us with their words and deeds. God is going to elevate some to a place where everyone can see who is in control of our lives and it has nothing to do with what they have or have not done for us or what they thought they were blocking in our lives, or anything else. He is giving many of us, because of our press and our fight the ability to stand on His legs and to abide in His resources so we are never again in a position that a person can dictate any area of how we live.
I more than anyone understand “the trying”. I understand the frustration that so many are going through as they are looking for something, trying to get up, trying to get to their place of healing, prosperity, blessing, and true deliverance. But as my Husband encouraged me today, “help is on the way.” The process may be one that is becoming too much, but hold on, because Jesus is right around the corner coming and He is coming to a problem never you! He is coming to save, deliver, and heal, to set free. He is coming to prosper, love us through and to anoint us a fresh for the work that lies ahead. So in your trying to get up, keep looking up, because truly your redemption draws neigh, understand that God did not bring any of us this far to leave us, or to watch while we go under. Do not give up on God, because even though things look crazy, God has not given up on us, He is dispatching angels to move, the Holy Spirit is in motion and He has seen our struggle and is calling heaven to attention because even in our efforts and although they may seem futile, He knows what lays in our hearts, and what we have need of, and that our level of obedience dictates He can trust us. His word promised that He has never seen the righteous forsaken nor HIS SEED, begging bread. God is getting ready to bypass the pool and give us healing, deliverance, prosperity and blessing not manufactured by human hands and in spite of all who do not want it to happen! Not only will we be able to pick our beds, but God is in the business of giving us enough strength and means to pick up somebody else’s carry it. Yes we are trying and God knows that more than anyone else, and Now He is about to do and bring about manifestation, revelation and re-creation!
