Matthew 11:28-30 (Amplified Bible)
28)Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]
29) Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
30) For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good--not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.
Today's Message In The music song is "If I Were Your Man" by Joe. This song speaks of a man who is in love with a woman, and he can not understand that with all the love that he possesses for her why he is not her man. He tells her that he would give up the world for her, that he would do the best he could for her her, love for her forever, if he was her man. The song's implication is that her present circumstance was not quite what he was offering, and that he was willing to love her, protect her, provide for her, care for her and even fight for her, because she was worth it. but yet she chose not to make him her man. His plea is to make her understand what it is that he and what it is that the love that he has for her can provide for her, if he was her man, her "one and only."
This song took me back to my early twenties when God was calling me back into a covenant relationship with Him and I was focused on so many other things. I was involved with my military career, my clubbing, being affirmed by a man, and so many other things that were detrimental to my soul and my spiritual growth and development. Even with that God was still wanting to be my one and only. He was still offering me all of Him, He wanted to protect me, love me, provide for me, care for me, deliver me, save me, and keep. He was still offering me what everything I was focused on could not give me. I am sure many of you reading this can relate, you have either been in this place or are in this place as you are reading this. God wants to be the one He has been trying to get your attention for quite some time, but you are sticking to what you know best. He is wanting to love you like you have never have been loved before and to give you what you need in a way you have never received it before.
We all have choices that we are faced with, love and to be loved. To be love by the right right one or to be loved by the wrong one. God is wanting to to be the "The One" will you allow him to be your friend, your confidant, your protection, your covering and your savior? or will you choose to be with another. Is God your source, your final say, your direction, your, your joy in times of sorrow, your hope for tomorrow, your everlasting love, and your all and all? If the answer to these is not than He is not your man H has not become the one. Is it not time to let Him through, He has been waiting just for you!
