Words Of Encouragement For Your Day (Friday 05/04/2012

If You Won’t, I Can’t
Exodus 33:14-16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
14And the Lord said, My Presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.15And Moses said to the Lord, If Your Presence does not go with me, do not carry us up from here! 16For by what shall it be known that I and Your people have found favor in Your sight? Is it not in Your going with us so that we are distinguished, I and Your people, from all the other people upon the face of the earth?

As grown up as my daughter is, sometimes when she has something to handle, like going to the store or bank, she will say, “Mom, I thought you were going with me; I don’t want to go unless you are going.”  I always laugh when these times happen, and remind her of how grown up she is most other times, and why would she need me now.  We go back and forth for a little while on occasion she will go by herself, but on occasion I will go with her.  Her desire not to go without me because she knows I have certain influence in certain places and certain relationships she has not yet, established.  She is in no rush to establish herself as the force, she is comfortable with being connected to and associated with me.
As I read this scripture yesterday, the question came, are you willing to go where I won’t go?  I thought about times when God said not to go in my past and I went or did it anyway.  Many times people’s opinion to me was more important, or I was not sure enough in myself or the God that I served and the purpose I was created for, to stand and say, “I can’t go, or do, because my God won’t go, His presence will not be present and His anointing will not be there.  I have learned that what God sees as important for me is really what is best for me.  I have learned if God is not present it might as well not even be something that exists.  So often we seek people’s approval and we seek out after our own fame, but we have neglected to see if God intends to be in attendance or whether that is an arena that He considers to be a place that His anointing can rest. I have heard people say many times that God won’t do what we can and this is true, God will not force us to choose His way and obedience to do, because we have the ability to do that ourselves.  God will make our name great, when we rely on Him and His wisdom.  Our focus often is on the wrong things, instead of it being on God it is on the prosperity, the job, the business, the woman, the man, the clothes, the name, etc… Our focus instead should be God and His kingdom being advanced by the way we live our lives and represent Him here in the earth.  But we have a tendency to place little weight on what God wants on so much more on what we want!
Can you go where go won’t?  Do we look to God to see if He is in or out?  DO we even consult or consider where God desires for us to be with Him?  It is these questions that will determine whether we have made God and His anointing a priority in our lives and whether we value Him as He should be valued.  I have found the anointing of the Lord is vital to my life, not just for selfish reasons like personal success, but to my ability to represent Him, correctly, to live a life that is acceptable in His sight and to give, say, do and go where His anointing is the focus and His Kingdom is able to take center stage.  I can’t go without God, because I have come to understand that no matter what all that I endeavor on my own, will come to naught, when done without God’s presences.  I would rather sit on the sidelines for a long time then to get out on the field without Him.  With Him all is a homerun, without Him, we are bound to strike out! So ask yourself, how comfortable are you being connected and associated with the presence and anointing of God?
