It’s Three Sixty Five
Exodus 23:28-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)
28 And I will send hornets before you which shall drive out the Hivite, Canaanite, and Hittite from before you. 29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate [for lack of attention] and the wild beasts multiply against you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and are numerous enough to take possession of the land.
Today is my birthday, and I do something every year, which gives me great insight and perspective, I look back over the last year. I reflect on my status from a year ago to the present. I ask myself some hard questions and set some goals for myself. I also try to bless whoever God lays on my heart on my birthday, because I understand that in that years’ time it is God’s grace that has kept me and I already have the greatest gift I could have which is salvation, life, health, a beautiful husband and family. But I also have the ability to change the lives of people God allows me to come in contact with. From last year to this year I see changes that only God could have made, door He closed and opened for me. But I also see that in this year of 2012 God has been setting up order in my life and tearing down some walls and giving me a new boldness to go in and possess what He has already said belongs to me. Many of you are thinking, what has she gotten a new car, house, job. NO, not yet, but those things are coming, but He has given me the ability to stand, stronger faith, peace that surpasses understanding and love that does not have conditions on it and a perspective that I am wonderfully and fearfully made, and I have possessed the fact that no matter what my life has been God has an assignment for me and He has purposed my life for greatness.
There is something about a year, a block of time of three hundred and sixty-five or sixty-six days. It is a full rotation of time, and a full rotation around the sun. God even used a year to accomplish a reset on the earth Noah and his family spent a year in the ark. What are we doing from year to year? Have we identified what God is doing in the years of our lives, or do we just exist or go with the flow? How have we made the lives of those we have encountered in a years’ time better? How are we doing life differently? Is our relationship with God in the same place that it was this time last year or is it better or worse? You see a year can mean everything or nothing at all; this all depends upon how we reflect upon it. It also depends on our respect for time, our relationship with God and gratitude towards God for allowing us to have it. A year represents opportunity and possibilities, but do we see it and embrace it for what God wants it to be for us, or are we too busy complaining about what we perceive is not right or is deficient?
Although, today may not be your birthday, but today is a day to see that God wants to take you somewhere and He wants to break down walls and help you to overcome barriers, but he also wants you, all of you all of the time. He wants you to not just be blessed and be selfish and self-centered with your blessing but remember that you are blessed to be a blessing and you have a responsibility to be a positive representative for Him in the earth. God wants us to not just to see the world through our eyes and with our thoughts but to see it through His eyes and think with His thoughts towards ourselves and others. Look at what this year has been and look at what it could potential become if we would only seek God’s face and to live like we have purpose, that we represent God and we should want to change the world for Him, one day at a time, one week at a time, one month at a time and one year at a time!
