No More Drama
Today’s Message in the music song is “No More Drama” by Mary J. Blige. It’s
a very powerful song, especially when you know a little bit of her
testimony. Mary had been addicted to drugs and abuse. She was in and out of
unhealthy and potentially fatal relationships. But God sent an angel in
the form of her future husband to bring her out. He re-introduced her to
her Heavenly Father. Her transformation was permanent because she cleaned up from the
inside out. She didn’t just make herself look beautiful on the outside, but
Mary took the time to make the inside just as pure.
In our lives we all experience some level of drama, whether intentional or
unintentional but there comes a point where we have to take responsiblity
for our surroundings. Yes, some of us were abused as a child. Some grew up in
single parent homes. Some in foster homes or with adoptive parents. Some of us had
to drop out of high school to take care of our families. Not that these
situations were not and are not very traumatic, but they are not fatal if we turn it over to
God.
There is no pain or hurt so big that God can't come in and heal it. He can
raise up the little boy who grew up without a father, clean him up and prosper Him
so much that it even shocks the man. God is not a respecter of person so our past and
background don't move Him or phase Him. He desires for us to come to Him with all of
our drama so that He can deliver us from it.
As much as people hate negativity our humanly instinct seems to draw us
near it. As hard as it is to see, we will stare at terrible car accident and wonder what
happened. We watch the news and the most devastating stories catch our eye. Its not until we allow
ourselves to be emptied of the flesh and filled with the spirit that we will be able to focus on things above.
Today let's choose as Mary did to let go of the drama, the baggage and the excuses. Ignorance is no longer
acceptable. Let's save the drama for our mama, and get it right with our Father.
