Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day ( Wednesday 01/20/10)

Today’s Devotional Written By A Young Woman Who God Is Truly Anointing In A New Way: Tracy Koweh
Why Me Lord?
Why Not You?
Revelation 2:10 (Amplified Bible)
10Fear nothing that you are about to suffer. [Dismiss your dread and your fears!] Behold, the devil is indeed about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested and proved and critically appraised, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be loyally faithful unto death [even if you must die for it], and I will give you the crown of life.(A)

This past week on Facebook I reconnected with a very close friend of mine from high school. Her profile was picture perfect. Beautiful family - - - -her husband and two little girls…(one named Jaeda). They had smiles that would light up any room, but my God the darkness she is going through.

We were chatting and catching up when she asked if I was married. I told her not anymore, and began to share a small piece of what happened. To my complete surprise, she shared that she was headed down the same road and for the same reason. I almost fell out of my chair. What are the odds that we would find each other again and in this very moment of her life? I told her that at the time I was going through my situation I kept asking “Why Me Lord?”, and He would reply back “Why Not You?”. I didn’t get it then, but I’m slowly starting to get it now.

Sometimes, we go through things so that we will be a LIVING testimony for someone else. Some times God will allow us to carry a cross so heavy that only He can lift it off of us, so that when the story is told again and again, He will get the glory. Every time I’ve had to witness to a woman who is dealing with a cheating mate, all I can tell them is that it was God. I can’t give them a 3 day cure, a home remedy or a quick step program, all I can tell them is that it was God.

Back then, I would have never said what I was going through was fair, but now I can say I understand it. I wonder how much more I could have gotten had I said “Thank You for Choosing Me”. How much more could I have done? How many more could I have helped, had I took the focus off of me and put it back on God.

Today make yourself available and yield to the power that only God can bring to your situation. The load you’re carrying is too heavy, because God never meant for you to carry it. Our trails and tribulations come to test our faith and commit to God, and to be a LIVING witness for some one else.
