Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Monday 03/14/2011)

Today’s Devotional Is Written Out Of The Spirit Of One That Is Resting In God Alone: Mrs. Tracy A. Dixon
Time To Wake Up.......

Isaiah 45:7 (New Living Translation)

7 I create the light and make the darkness.
I send good times and bad times.
I, the Lord, am the one who does these things.

Today's message in the music comes from Black Sheep's old school hit "This or That". The beginning of the song says: Who's the Black Sheep, what's the Black Sheep? Don't know who I am, or when I'm coming so you sleep. Wasn't in my room, wasn't in my sphere. Knew not who I was, but listen here. This past Friday the world experienced this exact fact.

Some don't know who God is at all, but then there are those who do, who still don't get it. I felt down right crazy when the news coverage showed the natural disasters hitting Japan, Hawaii and other parts of the world, because when everyone else was sad and worried, I was in a calm place. Not because I didn't recognize that could have been me or my family, but because I understand who God is. I know Him for all the greatness He is, but also for the judgment He has every right to execute.

We as Christians are sleeping on God, just as much as the sinner. We not only accept people, but we excuse and justify their sins. It’s so funny that prayer is taken out of school, Christ out of Christmas and holiness out of the media, but the second tragedy strikes the world wants to pray. Pray to whom, pray to what. Not God? Not the same God that said in His word marriage is for one man to one woman, yet we want to legalize same-sex marriage. No, not the same God that said in His word do not commit adultery, yet adultery is accepted and even reciprocated in some marriages. Not the same God that said thou shall not lie, steal or kill, and our prisons are overflowing. No, not to the one true living God.

See when it comes to God, you’re either with Him or against Him. Like the title of the song says: this or that. You can't hide God away until all Hell breaks loose on Earth. If the Christians this side of Heaven would stand on His word and stand up for Him, then Hell would have no authority. God is looking for a handful of believers to live right and set a standard. We are so caught up in a title that we are not actually entitled to anything. God is not playing and He said that this year it would be: this or that. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us, so him that have an ear let them hear. The alarm clock has sounded, are you up yet?
