Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Monday 03/21/2011)

Worship = WIN

Psalm 91:1-5 (New Living Translation)
 1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.  3 For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.  4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.  5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.

Today’s message in the music comes from DJ Khaled’s song “All I Do is Win”. The end of the chorus says: cause all I do is win-win-win,and if you goin’ in put your hands in the air. Yesterday in church our Bishop explained how only true worshippers are able to go beyond the veil and get into the presence of God. He then explained that sin can NOT dwell in the midst of God’s presence, and that if we could just learn to worship God, we would get into an enemy-free zone.
As I sat in church crying out to God and needing some answers, He flipped a light switch in my spirit. We are so busy patty-caking God that we don’t ever really worship God. We know the right things to say, the holy way to clap, the scriptures to quote and the words to “pray”, but can we truly get God’s attention? Do we know what it means to lay at His feet and worship? To cry out and empty all of ourselves to Him, AND then allow Him to fill us back up with Him. Have we only entered into the inner courts where we jump, shout and sing until our feet hurt, or have we entered into a place of all of you God, or nothing at all?
The past two weeks God gave me an assignment to start a prayer chain with wives: fifteen days, for fifteen minutes. I didn’t understand all that God was tasking me with, but obeyed and stepped out on faith. All was going well, until I allowed words of doubt to be planted into my mind. Those words pulled me back into the inner courts. I had let my guard down and unplugged from my power source. It was in that moment of defeat when I let my hands go down, that the enemy came in like a tidal wave. I felt overcome because in praising people there is no real power. It wasn’t until the words of the song hit me, that I got my victory back: if you’re coming “IN” put your hands in the air, and make them stay there.
The enemy can’t handle or stand in the presence of God, so if that’s where he can’t go, that’s the exact place we need to stay. The simplicity of this never hit me until today. If your outside and it’s raining, would you stand under your umbrella or hold it open in front of you? God is our covering, but we have to LIVE IN SUCH A WAY that it positions us to receive it. No need to hide from the enemy just set up camp in God’s presence…….then invite the enemy to come get you. Victory is one address change away…………..will you win starting from today, or stay where you’re at and get drenched. Like they say, when it rains, it pours.
