Today’s Devotional Written By A Young Woman Who Realizes Forward Movement IS Vital: Tracy Koweh (soon to be Dixon)
Teach Me....I'm Ready to Learn
Hosea 4:6 (Amplified Bible)
6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
Today's message in the music comes from Cali Swagg District's song "Teach Me How to Dougie". The past few weeks while talking to my female friends, I've discovered we've been struggling to learn this very simple dance. We've gotten help from younger people we know, watched videos, and have even uploaded step by step instructional, and we still don't have it.
The funny thing is that we wouldn't stop trying to learn it. We sought help from others; despite their age, and we exhausted all options before ever thinking of throwing in the towel. Then one night as I sat frustrated, God asked why we don't do the same for our spiritual lives. Why don't we first go to His step by step instructional book for our lives: The Bible. Why don't we seek counsel from others who may help, despite their age, race, or financial standing?
Why do we think to throw in the towel at the first sign of defeat or the enemy? Being a Christian is not an easy matter, but we should always know what to do because EVERYTHING we could be faced with in life is in the Bible. Issues with family, sexuality, finances, generational curses, and even addictions are all in His word. The great thing is that God not only showed us the questions on the test, He gave us the answer key as well. In debt, pay your tithes and test God. Shacked up, get married or move out, and watch the power of God come in. Born into a generational curse, be born again. Haters on your job trying to take you down, pray for those who spitefully use you.
Today as we enter into this new week, let us not enter it as fools. Let us begin to search for understanding of His word, and not just the knowledge of knowing some scriptures. What you don't know, or ask? Seek Godly counsel from someone who’s been where you are at, but has also arrived to where you are trying to go. Our spiritual futures are eternal, yet we spend the least amount of time in preparing them. Summertime is over, now it’s time to go back to school and hit the BOOK!!!
