Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Thursday 09/09/2010)

It’s Not So Easy…Oh But It Can Be…

Psalm 55:22 (Amplified Bible)

22Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).

1 Peter 5:6-7 (Amplified Bible)

6Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,7Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

Matthew 11:29-30 (Amplified Bible)

29Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. 30For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good--not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

My mom is a great woman of faith. She rarely seems to be rocked by much. She has been through a great deal in her life and has come through it smiling and giving God praise! She intercedes and prays for others, she counsels and she definitely leads by example. As I stated she is not one to normally get frazzled by much, but there is one situation that she has been going through, that at first she did not waver, she was steadfast in her confession and tireless in her prayers, but as years, began to go by and this thing was not resolved, she seemed a bit different, it wasn’t anything she said, but her face said that she was growing tired of this situation and it was about to work her last nerves. Yesterday we were having a conversation about this matter as we were heading to Bible study and she was frustrated, she had let the length of the process and the weight of it finally get to her, (I must admit, she held out many, many years, before it got to her, I am not so sure that would have been me). Of all the things last night our God inspired our Bishop to speak about was faith, having faith enough for your situation. It reignited the fire and the spark that I had seen for so many years in my mom over the resolution of this situation, and it helped me to see more clearly that when we look at things, and try to handle them head on minus faith and God between us and that situation it is bound to eventually become overwhelming and something that handles us!

We all go through things in life, even the strongest of Christians and the most valued of saints. But it becomes about whom we let carry it and who is really in control of us, our emotions and the way we do business within our lives. For many of us confession that Jesus is Lord is as far as we take it, we are still doing business as usually, we are handling all of our issues and problems, without prayer consultation or guidance from above. For others of us we let God handle the big things, the things that we have tried to handle and we know that they are out of our reach and abilities, the big issues we allow God in for, but handling our relationships, finances and other day to day issues we still do us. Our prayers are more about thanking God for what He has done, not asking Him how to do it. Then there are those of us, who upon our eyes opening in the morning, we begin to pour out and worship God because we understand that there is not a moment in any day that we do not need God to guide us lead us, instruct us, reproof us and teach us, and purify and sanctify us. We have an understanding that our life is not our own, and that at any turn throughout the day, sin and distractions can be present to take our minds and hearts off God and doing His will and being a light in the darkness. We understand that submission and humility to the will of God for our lives is not a bad thing, but the only thing. We understand that there is nothing too hard for God even when it looks its worst. We understand that putting Him out in front relieves us of the heaviness that may come our way. We are able to stay calm in the face of some of the most trying of circumstance, because we understand that God is ultimately in control!

I know we all have some things going on that don’t feel great, or at first glance are tough pills to swallow, but if we could see that God before us is more than the world and anything else against us. If we could just trust Him to carry the load, we would not be so weighted down and overburdened. If we could stop over thinking it and just trust Him even when we feel we cannot trust anyone else…If we can grasp the fact that test and trials come but it is for us to have dependency on God to see us through and make it alright, we would stress less and worry even less. When we are hiding the word in our hearts and humbling ourselves before God and allowing Him to know we are in total submission, He will make our paths clearer and straighter, but we have to want to let go to let God! We cannot have it both ways, we cannot pray for God to carry it and still hold onto it and feel relief and release. If you want the release give you and it to God, He promises to carry you through ad whatever your circumstance for you!
