In Case of Fire…Take the Stairs
Special Edition
Matthew 26:45(Amplified Bible)
45Then He returned to the disciples and said to them, Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of [a]especially wicked sinners [[b]whose way or nature it is to act in opposition to God].
Today’s message in the music comes from Coolio’s old hit school “Fantastic Voyage”. One of the verses simply says: “Just roll along, that's what you do. Just roll along, that's right.” This past week of the prayer chain, God had us pray over of the singles. Today’s blog is the message He gave me on the importance of the people we allow around us. If we are honest with ourselves, we have a lot of fair-weather friends just rolling with us, not really caring about us or looking after our best interest. Most are secretly hating on us, and plotting to take what’s ours at the first sign of an opportunity…….
It’s a harsh reality to face, but some people are in your life just to go along for the ride. They take the "elevator" with you and tag along as God takes you higher. The problem with the elevator is that it doesn't require work from you, and it has a lot of room for others to get on with you. It relaxes you and eases you into a dangerous place of complacency. The elevator will trick you into thinking the people who don’t qualify to keep going up with you, will simply get off on the right floor. Then in the blink of an eye, one distraction takes away your focus, and someone pushes the button that takes you back to the ground floor. When your focus is on Heaven, you are looking up to the sky. An assassin could be on your elevator and push the EMERGENCY button: causing an IMMEDIATE and ABURT stop to your destiny. But the most dangerous element of the elevator is its inability to keep going when FIRE is present. When you are in the elevator, you’re depending on a natural source of energy, and when it’s gone…….it’s gone.

But this morning, be encouraged, because God is telling you to take the stairs this time around. Each floor gets harder and steeper to climb but you’re building muscles of endurance. You’re building up your stamina, and as a free bonus, you’re getting rid of your dead weights. Those who really don't have your back will stop around the second floor. Keep going!! The STEPS of the righteous man are ordered by God. Don't let haters - - disguised as friends- - tell you that the fifth floor is high enough? They will tell you that you don't need to go any further. But keep going. Keep pressing. And then as you keep pressing, you'll start to smell the smoke. Keep going. By the ten floors, you’re begin to the see the smoke. Keep going. Now, it’s just you and your destiny crew. Your true friends. Your ride or die. Your prayer warriors….. and you guys keep pushing. The fire has already burned up all the people that gave up on you, and all the people and things YOU LEFT BEHIND. Keep pushing. You have more floors behind you, then in front of you. The smoke is blinding now, keep going…..now you’re walking by faith. Follow God’s voice and then you’ll find it. That door, that one route of escape is....JESUS. Go ahead. Open it. He died so you could have that right. When you open it, there will be your way out. Your helicopter, your plane, your air lift. God has you, but you can't take everyone along for the ride.
Today, keep pushing in the fire. It’s until you reach what’s impossible for you, that it becomes possible for God. Trust God in all things and surround yourself with people that are trying to help get you to your destiny, and not trying to take a short cut to their destination.
