Hooked on Heaven Part II Special Edition
Romans 6:12-14 (New Living Translation)
12 Do not let sin control the way you live;[a] do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
This past Saturday the prayer chain prayed a very specific prayer for our sister in Christ, who wanted to be completely delivered from her addiction to cigarettes. As I began to intercede and ask God to do in her what she could not do in her own strength, He gave me the below word.
God wants you to know, that He wants you to be an addict!! He wants you to know how it feels when you miss a "hit". He wants you to remember going out in the rain, cold and heat to get a fix. He wants you to remember standing outside, no matter what the situation going on indoors. He wants you to remember NEEDING a smoke when you felt stressed and at your breaking point. He wants you to remember the relief that came with that deep breathes in, and then that great exhale out.
Now child of God, change your addiction. Get hooked on God. When you miss a "hit"(a day of spending time with Him) let your whole body go through withdrawals until that void is filled by Him. Praise Him in the rain, cold and heat. Don’t be afraid to stand outside and be set apart for Christ. No matter the weather (storms, flood or fire), let God separate you from the crowd. NEED and trust Him when u feel stressed and at your breaking point. Then hold on to His relief when you breathe Him in, and let the rest out.
Today as you become a renewed addict, thank God for your detox deliverance, RIGHT NOW. Thank God for replacing fear with increased faith. Thank God for replacing serpents in your life, with a spiritual support system. Release Heaven's health and healing over yourself, RIGHT NOW. What a great time to try Jesus, the week symbolic of His unselfish sacrifice for us. He gave us free will, so choose ye this day…..will it be Heaven or hell on Earth for you!!
