Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Friday 08/06/10)

Born To It…

Ephesians 1:11-14 (Amplified Bible)

11In Him we also were made [God's] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will, 12So that we who first hoped in Christ [who first put our confidence in Him have been destined and appointed to] live for the praise of His glory! 13In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. 14That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it--to the praise of His glory.

I have a friend whose nickname or stage name is “Born Unique,” when I first met this individual I thought that is an awesome, perception of one’s self. It is one that we often miss. I have spent almost the entire life of my children instilling in them that they are unique, different and that their paths were not like everyone else’s, and yet I had missed that fact in my own life. As I began to ponder what made this individual pick that stage name, the Lord gently reminded me of how fearfully and wonderfully made I was and how His purpose and plan for my life was uniquely my own and was uniquely His to bestow upon me, for His glory. Of course being the big cry baby that I am tears began to flow, when I could see that God was in the moment taking this time to remind me of the uniqueness in which He formed me, predestined me and purposed my life.

I have heard so many people say that they are so far behind the curb ball or they are not where they are supposed to be. But what if this was a part of your unique journey, and God’s unique plan to get you to the place of His desire? I am far from saying we do not make mistakes and fall down, bump our heads on occasion, and just down right lose our minds, but we forget that God knew ALL of that before we did it and He still loves us and has a plan and a purpose for us (Jeremiah 29:11). Through the adversities that I have experienced in my own life it has yield some pretty interesting things, instead of making me mean, it has made me tenderer and yielded to the hand of God and His will. Instead of making me cold it has given me a heart and warmth for not just God’s people but for all people. Instead of making me afraid to stand up for what is right, it has made me more vigilant and added tenacity to the gifting’s and callings on my life. You see whatever it is God is trying to get out of you, in you, and from you, this is what you were “born to.” It is no happenstance and no mistake. All things work together for the Good to them that LOVE the Lord and are called according to His purpose! You see we all were born to some kind of greatness, some kind of purpose, it is about yielding the way for God to bring it to light and being in a place to see, it and walk it out, realizing that God ordained it so it is all good!

Today as you think about the things happening around you and in some cases to you, don’t hang your head in despair. Realize you were born to get through this and to see the Glory of God revealed in your life. That God called you before you were formed in your mother’s womb and he predestined you, to be a reflection of His Glory here in the earth. Realize that the test, setbacks, trials, hurts and pains may be a part of your processing to claim all that you were BORN TO!
