Too Close for Comfort......
Psalm 18:30 (Amplified Bible)
30As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.
For those who don't know I work at a credit union, but I don't work the typical bankers hours. For the past 4 years I've loved the amazing hours of my branch, and even more so the last 2 years because I've worked 645am to 315pm. I can drop Jai off in the morning, go to the gym after work, knock our errands and pick her up with time to spare in the afternoons. I'm home in time to cook full three/four course meals and spend some family quality time with her and Shane.
Well of course, no matter how stressed I got, burnt out, or upset I got at work, I never wanted to leave: the hours were too good to give up. The times I felt I hated my job, I still loved my hours. It was close to home and came with lots of personal perks. Well, last week I applied for a position at a branch far away with longer and weekend hours. I couldn't believe it when I actually hit submit on my application. What was I doing? I was stepping out on faith. I was taking a chance on God. I was getting out of my comfort zone.
I would love to be able to take the credit and say that I came to this junction in the road all by myself but I didn't. God pushed and pushed, then He stepped back. He let me be, let me almost drown in my stubbornness, fear and closed mind, and right in the knick of time, He threw out a safety net. See God had made it so uncomfortable for me at work, so unbearable that I was ready to just walk off the job. Not that it was any one person or any one thing that was driving me crazy, everything was making me go crazy. Just the simple act of opening the door, signing on to my computer for the day, a member asking me a very simple question lead me to start saying,” my season is over, my season here is done. Even if I want to stay at this point, I can't.”
Today some of you find yourself in situations that make no sense at all. Things that you use to be able to let go of, now you can't. People you use to let get away with things, you don't. You find yourself being hot then cold, up then down. You can't quite find "your" spot in the bed. You can't get the temperature just right in the house. No matter what you do, what you say, where you go, or how much you do, nothing feels right. Know that its not you. You're not alone. You're not going crazy. Its God!!! He is telling you its time to move. Step out of your comfort zone, and step into your destiny.
