The Cure For What Ails Me…
Jeremiah 17:14 (Amplified Bible)
14Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.
Jeremiah 17:14 (New Living Translation)
14 O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved.
My praises are for you alone!
My sister and I were talking today about some things that the two of us had experienced, and my heart grew sad. I was feeling a certain kind of way, about my life, some people in it and some of its events. My heart began to feel heavy, and I felt as if I was struggling in those moments, struggling not to cry and struggling not to lose it. I had started praying as soon as I felt these feelings beginning to come, but they did not seem to lessen in those moments. As I sat down at the computer before I could do anything else I went to you tube and pulled up Fred Hammond’s song “Everything To Me, and then I followed it up with Take my Hand, and Song of Strength by Fred as well. As I began to listen to words of those songs, I could hear in my spirit that it is only when we focus on God, and reach for Him, that He comes in and does what is necessary to heal what is broken, what is ill, what is hurting, what is off balanced. It is only when God picks us up, after people have let us down that we can get a break through, see the light at the end at the tunnel and feel our help and His peace covering us.
As I thought about the struggles of many around me, these struggles are related to depending on people, or having faith in people and those people failing them, hurting them, contaminating their mind, heart or their spirits. It has to be one of the hardest places to be; especially when you are a people person and you care deeply for people you can take a beating by their actions, attitudes, and responses, or lack thereof. It can wound us, and literally make us ill, thinking, worrying, or trying or fix it or them. But the Bible says in Jeremiah 17:5-8, “5 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. 6 They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land . 7 “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” We often will become a casualty of people and in need of physician, a healer a miracle worker to put us back together and save us. As with tonight, I had to refocus myself on God and understand that He is my saving grace and the person that heals me, saves me, cleanses me and redeems from the hands of all things, people and thoughts that are harmful, hurtful, and even things that are sickening and may be meant to place a sickness on us unto death on me. Not necessarily a natural death, but often it is a death that is emotional and spiritual in nature.
No matter what is killing, you, hurting you, making you ill, perplexing your mind or confusing you, weighing on your heart, take it and all of you back to the our Heavenly Father, back into His presence to heal your soul and make you whole. You see God is not like human physicians He is not practicing medicine, He is the medicine, He is the Balm, He is the bandage and He is the best thing not on pharmacy shelves…God is the answer to any question and the cure for any disease, all we need to do is come running into His presence and feel the very warmth of His presence and the power of His touch, The value of His words and the protection of His love. God is all that we need to rise up and be healed, saved, delivered and empowered to live, love and be a powerful living testimony to His healing virtue!
