Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day ( Monday 02/ 21/2011

Today’s Devotional Written Out Of The Spirit Of: Mrs. Tracy A. Dixon
Yes to His Will, When He Does it Our Way

Matthew 7:21 (New Living Translation)

21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.

Today's message in the music comes from Keith Sweat's song " There You Go Telling Me No Again". The chorus of the song says: “There you go tellin’ me no again. There you go. I wanna be more than just your friend. Don’t you know, don’t you know.” Although Shane and I are newlyweds, we already joke with "there you go telling me no again." So many times in marriages we hear that women say "no" to intimacy because they have a headache, are tired, or they are just mad at their husband.

God gave me a revelation that we as Christians treat him the same way. We only want to get intimate with Him, when all of our personal desires are met. When all the bills are paid. When our health is good and when we are on top of the world. But the second our tithe interferes with our shopping money we pull back. When we get a headache on Sunday morning we decide to say home in bed, so we can be well enough for work on Monday. We get off work and we do not to Bible Study because are too tired from working all day, yet we have enough energy to go out all night Friday after payday.

This year I believe God is getting ready to say no to some of us. When we need healing, He's not going to feel like it. When our rent is due, He is going to see if our Kingdom insurance of ten percent has been faithfully on the books. When we need Him to move in the midst of our storm, I believe He is going to send more rain. God wants to be more than just our "know for needs" friend. We keep Him on a need to know basis, like He doesn't already know everything. He wants to be our provider, our healer, our protector, our shield, our lawyer, our teacher, our covering, our best friend, our comfort, our hope, our joy, our peace and our sanity............but on His terms not ours. The Bible says let your yes be yes, and your no be no. Decide to do it His way, or not at all. There are only so many more times He is going to accept you telling Him no.

When He says move, don't ask why, ask where. When He says give, don't ask why, ask how much and to who. When He says trust Him, don't doubt, just do it. Show God you can handle the test, and He'll give you a great testimony!!!!
