Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Thursday 07/01/10)

Who Is Teaching You To Speak?…

Exodus 4:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

15You must speak to him and put the words in his mouth; and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you what you shall do.

16He shall speak for you to the people, acting as a mouthpiece for you, and you shall be as God to him.

I remember when my children were learning how to speak. My mother is a teacher and so when she first heard me interacting with my first born son, she taught me a valuable lesson. She told me never talk baby talk to my children. She said speak to them as if they are the little people that they really are. She said if you speak to them in full sentences and communicate with them in a clear and concise manner they will learn to speak clearly and they will pronunciation their words clearly, and that they will speak full sentences sooner. I put her plan into action, and my two children learned to speak quickly and articulate very well. They spoke and still speak clearly and concisely and they have a vast vocabulary. Had I done it differently I am sure the results would have been vastly different.

Who is teaching you how to speak now? Is it your environment, your peer group, your past, a brotherhood or sisterhood? Has been generational hurts, and pains, has it been disappointments and setbacks, or have you let God teach you to speak? Have to let the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart become acceptable in His sight? Has the Holy Spirit become teacher and guide in the area of your words? Have you decided to ask God to guard you mouth and your emotions so that you will only speak life, His will and word to whatever you find yourself entrenched in or in the midst of? People are listening to what you say. They are watching how your words line up with your living. They are watching how certain proclamations line up with your dialogue. They are watching to see if the words that you speak affect your attitude and your altitude. Whether the faith that you try to push on others is really the faith realm in which you live and speak for yourself.

Can God tell you to be quiet and you obey? Can He call your name and you answer? Can He give you utterance and you comply? God wants to tame the most unruly member in our body. He wants to teach us how to talk to people, and how to communicate with them, He wants us to understand the value of our words and how the affect our lives and the lives of others. God want us to speak in a manner, so that His name gets the Glory and that the Kingdom is represented well. Do we exhibit Christ and are we letting Him have dominance in the way we communicate with our spouse, our children, our coworkers, or do we just throw anything up in the atmosphere and hope that no one notices?…Trust and believe they hear you and they notice. It is time to let the confession of our faith and our communication become one. It is time to let God do the talking and our way of saying things do the walking. If we say that God is in control, truly, let Him be in control of your mouth too!
