Today’s Devotional Written By A Young Woman On A Journey That Is Strengthening And Changing Her: Tracy Koweh
SHOUT IT OUT
Ephesians 3:12 (Amplified Bible)
12In Whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear).
Today’s message in the music comes from the hit Temptations song, “Shout”. The part that I want to focus on is the end when they get a little bit “softer now” and then a little bit “louder”. Recently, there was an incident involving a post on a friends facebook page. The intent of the post was to put Christ and His power on display to let God know that no one was ashamed and that our faith wasn’t gonna be shaken by the enemy’s report “a little bit louder now”. The reception of the post was taken as putting someone’s business on front street and so the person deleted them to keep the situation personal…… “a little bit softer now”. When we are ashamed or afraid to bless the name of the Lord or declare His word, it makes Him ashamed of us before the Father and therefore forfeits our own blessings.
Last week I had a spiritual attack come down on me in full effect, I couldn’t move, I could barely breathe and I had absolutely no strength at all. It was until the night was almost over that it hit me what had been transpiring throughout the day. I had some prayer warriors over me, but one prayed in almost a whisper “a little bit softer now”. A few months ago I was under a spiritual attack where my top dog prayer warriors had to be called in, and although I couldn’t respond to them I remember hearing them bombarding heaven on my account and serving notice to hell at the same time “a little bit louder now”. Its funny how the person who can barely stand for fifteen minutes in church, will stand for hours at a Jay Z concert.
As I prepared to write this blog, I recalled an eye opening conversation I had encountered with a great friend on my ride to work. She was asking for updates on Kenny and then she said something along the lines of “God might do it”, and it felt like the Holy Spirit drop kicked me in the gut. Why are we as Christians so afraid to declare the Word of God? Why are we so weak in our proclamations? When do we look satan in the eye and say, By His stripes I AM HEALED, instead of He might touch me? When do we declare that God will supply my every need, and then we let Him do it? When we will get to the place that no matter what we see or hear, we will boldly stand on His Word. Church, Christ and Covenant seem to be the three topics that cause us “Christians” to get a little bit softer now.
Today determine in your heart, mind, body and soul that nothing and I mean nothing will cause you to lower your voice. The Bible says SHOUT unto the Lord with a voice of triumph. The Bible says make a joyful NOISE to the Lord. The Bible says you are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, and you are more than a conqueror. Declare the Word of the Lord with the words you speak and the actions you execute. Go ahead and get a little bit louder NOW!!!!!
