Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day ( Thursday 06/24/10)

I Can Work With You…

1 Samuel 16:7 (Amplified Bible)

7But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance or at the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

God has blessed me with a diverse lot of people in my life. I am surrounded by people that challenge me to pray and to stay on the wall and to research and even to expand my thinking in ways that challenge me as a person to grow. I have one individual in my life who is an awesome person. They are on fire in so many different ways, they are a community activist and a youth activist, although they believe as I do, they deal in many different circles. When they reach out in the community they seldom exclude anyone from the conversation, no matter what their religious affiliation, or denomination, or even if there is none at all. They look at the abilities of the individual and what they can offer to the solution.

It is so funny how we can look at people, and who we perceive them to be, and judge them, qualify or disqualify them. We view their economic background, their academic credentials and their ability to speak, worship and see the world as we do and that becomes the defining line for whether we accept them and qualify them as usable or not. I am so glad that God is not that way. He looks at the inward parts of us. He qualifies us by what He sees and knows our heart to be saying, not our mind, our mouth our bank account, our looks, or our job. Whew, thank God! When we can grasp the fact that God uses whom “HE,” pleases and it is not about us but about Him and His will being accomplished in the earth, we will be that much further ahead. Our Bishop says a lot, don’t walk past people and not speak, or don’t disqualify people just because they do not look as you think, they may be the one carrying your break through, your blessing, your next level and your ability to get to something or somewhere.

When we look at people, what is it that we see first, their religion, their, looks, their checkbook, their house, their clothes, their hairstyle, or how fine they are or whether they look the part? If that is what you, you are looking at the wrong things. Many times it is not anything that we can see with our natural eye that is most important, but it is the very heart, of the individual that is important. Every soul is important to God; it is about time we realize that. Deposit seeds of life, God’s love and wisdom into them, no matter whether they look like us worship like us or not. We never know God may be using us to bring them into His knowledge or He may use them to bless our lives in spite of our differences. “He that has an ear let Him hear what the spirit (of God) is saying to the church.” Put away your opinion and let God speak to you about those you encounter!
