Today’s DEVOTIONAL Written By A Woman That I Have Been Proud To Watch Grow And Develop Into Some Kind Of Wonderful: Mrs. Tracy Dixon ( Shane’s Forever Love)
It Sounds Good………..
Psalm 42: 1
1 As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for you, O God.
so I long for you, O God.
This past Sunday at church we sung one of my all time favorite songs: More, More, More by Joann Rosario. We sung it in English and in Spanish. We sung it with music, and then without the music. We sung it soft, then we went hard before bringing it back down again. Man, you could not tell me that we wasn’t ready to open up for the Grammy’s. It was such a beautiful moment of worship, and then God began to speak to my spirit.
He said: Yes, “it sound good”, but it doesn’t feel good. He asked me what more did we want, did we need? Hasn’t He given us everything already? He gave His son that we would be reunited with Him and have eternal life. He gave us breathe. He gave us life, shelter, food, and so many doors and opportunities to receive His favor throughout our destiny journey. He said the reason this song hurts at times, is because most of us sing we want more, more, more, but He gets less, less, and less of us. We are barely out of the church parking lot on Sunday before we are listening to Lil Wanye, Usher, or some good ole Luther. We press our way to spend some time with Him on Sunday, and depending on how the week play out, we might give Him a few hours on Wednesday.
It’s been said before that the same Christians who get tired of standing up doing three songs of praise and worship, are the same people who will stand in line for hours to ride a roller coaster, get into a concert or take a picture with a celebrity. The same Christians who complain God wants all of our money, will spend eighty dollars on one pair of shoes, a hundred on some jeans and take an auto loan with a thirteen percent interest rate (but won’t pay God His ten percent). If we would get to a place of spending more, more, more time with God, then we would automatically set ourselves up to receive all of Him. It’s not that God is holding back any good thing from us, it’s just we don’t put in the time to get it all. We too busy living to live for God all of the time, so He is about to get too busy to keep us all of the time. Now let the church say….Amen. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. You know we too blessed to be stressed…..Man, now don’t that all sound so good.
