Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Thursday 06/16/2011)

Whatever It Is…It Is Time To Let It Go…

1 Peter 5:6-10 (Amplified Bible)
6Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, 7Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 8Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. 9Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. 10And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.

Today was one of those days when the encourager needed encouragement.  From early this morning when I felt my Godbaby’s spirit pulling on me, to conflict with my son, to a girlfriend and sister in Christ suffering through some serious stuff.  My spirit was being pulled on; my spirit had hit the floor in full motion today.  It seemed to go from one scenario today to another without time to recover.  I was reminded this evening by my Sweetheart, “When we get punched, we need to get pissed and praise and worship that much harder.” At first glance I said does he know what I just went through today, I am exhausted.  But deep down on the inside I heard my spirit reaffirm that word and say He is right it is time to get radical and pour it all out to God.  It is not that I thought God had missed one moment of my day and the drama, issues, and circumstance that were involved within this day, it was that the fact that I understood that God wanted to hear my petition, He wanted me to get all that concerned me off of me and He wanted me to lay it down before Him and allow Him to be just who I said He was to me, which is my Lord, Savior and my Deliverer!
All too often we find ourselves in the mix, whether in a battle, whether enduring or encountering circumstances, or just hurt or in lack, God wants us to tell Him all about it, He wants us to cry out to Him and to give Him all of us, even the pains, discomforts, the anger, the disappointments. God wants our strengths and our talents, but more importantly He wants our weaknesses and the things that are beyond our control.  He wants to handle it, to lead us through it and to calm our fears and soothe our anxieties, but we have to bring it to Him and actually let go of it when we get there. Many of us want to bring it to God and vent about it, but then we want to pick it back up and carry it back with us instead of nailing it to the alter and understanding that to hold on to it is to be bound and controlled by it, but to let go of it is to allow God’s freedom to be ours and to be in a place of true liberty.  Some of us want to hold it to it because we think it gives us a pass not to forgive or move on, or it gives us leverage to hold over people because we think they have done us wrong, but God is requiring us to walk this out in spite of who is or is not doing what is right. It is about us, and our surrender.  When we get here then we can praise God even when things have not visibly changed. It is then we can bring Him worship that smells sweet because we have cast off all that would weigh us down and cause our focus to be tainted and our offering to be given in the wrong spirit, and become a stench before God.
Don’t let another day, another moment, another second pass without whatever has been plaguing our mind, heart, soul and spirit being brought to the only wise God that has dominion, and power and all glory belongs to, in order for Him to handle it and subdue it.  Don’t carry it another step, don’t take another breathe or let your heart beat another time without you asking God to take it, (whatever it is) all of it and all of you as well into His care so He can fix whatever is wrong, so we can give Him what He so deserves, an unhindered praise and a pure worship. God wants us free. He wants us to recognize that we have been made conquers and that our relief is only a prayer away! Bring it and then let it Go,. God is trying to remind some and tell others it’s not yours to carry anyway!
