The Standard Has Been Raised…I Just May Not See It Yet!
Isaiah 59:19 Amplified Bible (AMP)
19So [as the result of the Messiah's intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives].
Yesterday was one of those days where as soon as my eyes opened crazy met me. Things were flying at me left and right and my spirit was unsettled by the heavy hearts that I heard from all throughout the day. It does not matter who called every person was going through what appeared to be their own personal crisis and/or hell. My thought and question became “what in the world is going on?” I remember thinking “wow this is absolutely crazy!” As I began to pray I realized that yesterday was not just circumstantial that it was strategic, and that the enemy was moving against people in a very bold way to bring about distraction, destruction, despair and depression. But last night when I woke up in the middle of the night what hit my spirit is the enemy does not just come like that for no reason, He comes like that because our breakthrough and our victory is imminent and He will love nothing more for us to get off track and miss what God is doing because we are so busy and so focused on what is happening we have taken our eyes off of God.
As I lay awake for a short while I prayed and I realized that although I could not see God moving I knew He was. I remembered what my Grandmother and my mother have said about when the enemy is really coming at you hard that you are on the verge of a breakthrough and God moving, on our behalf. In the moments this morning I heard this scripture when the enemy comes in, it is really like a flood I will raise up a standard…I thought about how a flash flood comes in no real warning it just comes it and dominates. Well, most people read the scripture that the enemy comes in like the flood, but what if God is coming like a flash flood into our situation to overtake the enemy and drown his tactics and wash him away? I have a tendency to believe that because that is how it was shown to me and that is just how God works. It is easier to see this if we believe and know the word of God. Because the Bible lets us know that with God before us, who can stand against us, and that He is more than the world against us. He said He would subdue His enemies, and if we are His children and His alone, then our enemies are His. The word of God reminds us that we are more than conquers through Him that loves us…
Just as with Peter he only began to sink when he took his eyes off of Jesus. His ability to stay above and to defy the normal was seated in His ability to keep his focus. It wasn’t the waves and the winds that began to take him down it was his focus, it was the fact that all he could probably think of when he gave attention to what was going on around him was that these things “Could” bring him ham and that is when doubt and fear come into place and like Peter we begin to sink. We need to keep our eyes and hearts locked on Jesus, knowing that God the Father is in control, and although we may not be able to see Him moving things around, and raising up an army to defend us, a standard to that closes the mouth of the enemy, or we don’t notice the provision being made manifested, that does not mean it is not happening. Nor does it mean that He is not setting up the enemy to enter into His own demise just by doing what He normally does which is trying to get the people of God off track and getting in their way or pursuing them. Stay focused God is working it out and raising the standard for you and me, if we would only believe, keeping our eyes and hearts upon him and keep walking it out in spite of what we see. He has us and He is dealing with our enemies even NOW!
