Saved But Not Delivered…
Judges 12:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3And when I saw that you would not rescue me, I put my life in my hands and crossed over against the Ammonites, and the Lord delivered them into my hand. Why then have you come up to me this day to fight against me?
Have you ever found yourself in a situation that you just knew you had to get out of, that you had to break free of. Whether it was a job, a relationship, a living arrangement or some other situation that you just knew was not right for you because it was pushing you to be a different type of person than God created you to be? I am sure we all have at some time or another. But the irony of this is even when we break out of a situation, and we think we are saved from it, that does not always mean that we have allowed God to deliver us, to really set us free indeed. Because we can be long gone out of a situation, far away from an individual in the natural and our mind still holds us captive to a thing or an individual, we can still be enslaved from a distance. Sometimes it is not our mind but guilt over things not working out, or feeling as if failure or inability were somehow tied to what happened. It can even be a situation that we are dealing with someone that does everything they can to mess over us discredit us and dog us out in any way possible, but yet they have a hold on us, we are stuck, in some of our cases if we didn’t know better we would think we are under some sort of spell of something. We feel stuck, trapped and we are just surviving keeping our head above water. Still succumbing and yielding to the manipulation that has become that situation.
Then one day, something happens and we can feel our freedom coming back. When God allows us to see the truth of people that have made it their mission in life to try to bring us down, make us feel less than a gift from God, or blame us for everything and take no responsibility for their contribution or mistakes, we can begin to walk in deliverance. When we can see that they are taking God and His word and making it into a pretzel for their consumption, it is then we can begin to see, and get delivered. But it is not until we can get to God in a way that He can reveal to us what He says about us and who we are to Him. When we can hear His voice over the lies and innuendos of others, and He becomes the voice of reason, the voice that guides our reactions and action and the voice that allows us to qualify people and their ability to speak into our lives or speak to us at all. You see God needs to be able to come into our lives and restore something in us that has been stripped from us by the actions and words of others; He needs to be able to restore His love, because it is His love that covers, it is His love that brings restoration, it is His love that commands attention and blocks out distractions, it His love that illuminate truth and chases the darkness of lies away. It is here that we find strength to not just be free of or saved from a situation or from people but it is the place that we can look in the mirror mistakes and all understanding that if we ask for forgiveness and truly ask God to cover us He does. It is here that we understand real love and the truth of who God fashioned us to be. It is here that deliverance becomes a clear and attainable goal. Just as when Jesus called Lazarus out of the tomb, he had to shake free and loose of the grave clothes that bound him, it is the same for us when people, bad relationships, church hurts, childhood drama, misuse on the job, and so many other things have been the thing that we have measured ourselves by.
It is long overdue that we don’t just run to freedom and are saved from things, but still are looking over our shoulder, dwelling in a place of pain, allowing people to continually make us feel bad about us and who we really are, or constantly trying to beat us down and take our dignity. We need to let God love us into our deliverance; for Him to define us and not people. We need to find strength in His love, strength that allows us to stand up and say, I am not going to subject myself to your definition of me, your abuse, your twisted thinking and theology nor will I give you permission to treat me less than God says I should be treated. You see we can live away from people, get a new job, enter a new scenario, and people, their words and the thought of certain circumstances and situations can throw us into a place of hurt, depression and despair. We can find ourselves still pupated by people. We may be out but we haven’t been delivered. It is when we can smile when we receive a letter that attacks our character, and tries to bring us into the mud rolling around in the ignorance and insecurities of others. It is when we can find laughter in the face of people and their attempt to steal our joy. Because as we know it is the joy of the Lord that provides us strength, and allows us to get over it and move on to be able to receive God’s forgiveness, unconditional love, exceeding great joy, peace that surpasses understanding and prosperity. So don’t just get out, get away from, or become saved from, get all the way delivered, all the way out of reach of that thing or those people ever having an impact on your life again…As my Baby says, some things don’t even qualify you getting in the ring, they do not even rate you responding, because it is not worth your time it is too precious, or your words because they are too valuable, or your reaction because it is too unique to waste on those who choose to commit love abuse, or are in refusal to see anything but themselves and lack the capability to really see the divinely appointed, immensely anointed, person God has made you! Get saved, get free get delivered today!
