2 Corinthians 6:14-17 New Living Translation (NLT)
14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.

One of my favorite things about going on road trips is looking at all of the different advertisements on the billboards. You see everything from perfect burgers, cheap fireworks, to 24hr restaurants. These companies have tapped into a great marketing strategy of appealing to our sense of eyesight without ever having to say or do anything. The simple billboard plants seeds into our minds that cause us to want what we see, or to keep driving until we see something that catches our eye.

As Christians I believe we are to be God’s great marketing strategy. People should be able to see us OUTSIDE OF CHURCH and know that we belong to the kingdom. They should be able to read our posts, tweets and emails and know that we are a child of God. When people are in our presence they should see something in us, that makes them want to get what we have. The problem is that so many Christians talk a very good game, but there are no actions to back it up; the church today is seen as one of the most hypocritical institutions in our nation.

God shouldn’t need to mail out coupons, weekly ads or purchase commercial airtime space. We are suppose to be His representation on Earth. We are to be His greatest catch phrase, that unforgettable jingle and that mouthwatering picture that draws the non-believer into the kingdom. We are suppose to live LOUD for the kingdom in every dimension of our lives. You can’t have on your Jesus is my rock t-shirt and you don’t pay your tithes. Don’t scream and holla in church on Sunday, when you scream and holla all week long at home. Don’t witness to your co-workers about how great heaven will be, and you raise the most hell in the workplace. Choose today whose kingdom team your own, and make sure you billboard reflects that. Are you leading people to God’s highway, or causing them to take the first exit away from Him?
