Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Friday 08/12/2011)

Today's Devotional Written By the Inspired Voice of Tracy A. Dixon

Encourage Yourself!!
Psalm 42:5 New Living Translation (NLT)
5 Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again- - my Savior and  my God!
This week has been rough, and the fact I haven’t been able to speak to my best friend has only made it worse. I normally only write the blogs on Monday, but this week God had been speaking to me so clearing and frequently I was writing the blogs days ahead of time. The crazy thing about today’s is that I had no clue it would be the hardest, especially with the title sounding so easy and uplifting. Although God had been speaking so, Monday He release this title and date to me, and that was all He would give me. I realize as I write this coming off of a tear filled morning and afternoon, it was all for this moment.
This week I didn’t have Shane’s text, emails or phone calls to let me know that everything would work out. My best girlfriend, prayer partner and spiritual mother had so much going on with her that we were barely able to make contact this week. I found myself getting down, feeling overwhelmed and alone, but that’s when I remembered this title. Yeah, its great to have that person in your corner pushing you on, but sometimes LIFE just happens and you find yourself standing by yourself and for yourself; that’s when you have to learn to ENCOURAGE YOURSELF.
My covering was taken from me this week, and the enemy saw it as the perfect opportunity to open fire, but he picked the wrong one. Yeah, I cried some and I broke down but I didn’t stay down. I prayed my way through and God showed up. Not that he blessed me with wealth, health or favor, but He kept me. The simple fact I am still here, still believing, and still trusting is a testimony. You have to learn to pray yourself back to peace, power and a position of praise. You have to learn to pray over, cover, speak healing, speak joy, speak life, speak greatness, speak power, speak strength, and speak victory over yourself. Don’t let the day to day stresses burn you out or take you down, and just because your cheerleading squad has to take a water break every now and then…………don’t let that stop you from getting on the field and screaming. GO. GO. G-O. GO. FIGHT. WIN to yourself. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that God don’t make junk, and with Him on your side you a BAD somebody!!
