Words Of Encouragement To Start The Day (Monday 08/22/2011)

What Is Your Reply? Or Is There One At All?
Psalm 40:5-10 Amplified Bible (AMP)
5Many, O Lord my God, are the wonderful works which You have done, and Your thoughts toward us; no one can compare with You! If I should declare and speak of them, they are too many to be numbered. 6Sacrifice and offering You do not desire, nor have You delight in them; You have given me the capacity to hear and obey [Your law, a more valuable service than] burnt offerings and sin offerings [which] You do not require. 7Then said I, Behold, I come; in the volume of the book it is written of me; 8I delight to do Your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart. 9I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly [tidings of uprightness and right standing with God]. Behold, I have not restrained my lips, as You know, O Lord. 10I have not concealed Your righteousness within my heart; I have proclaimed Your faithfulness and Your salvation. I have not hid away Your steadfast love and Your truth from the great assembly.
I am not a big fan of R. Kelly; a matter of fact my daughter knows that in most cases if she is commanding the radio when we are riding in the car and He comes on there are only a few songs I will sit through.  But One song that He made came on the radio on a recent road trip and I listened to the words, (probably because I thought it was another artist), A song entitled “Love Letter,” the whole song really ministered to me, it is funny how God will speak to you in the midst of a “secular song” but the last verse and of course the chorus, spoke loud and clear, “i hope these, hope these words find you in the perfect mood…i wrote this letter according to my love for you…so i hope this paper will travel safely to where you are…because the melody is custom made for your heart…though near or far i will find a way to send my love…only pray that it don’t come back return to sender…if you are reading this i hope that things are well…and you can text me back, you can write me back…just check your mail…did you get my card? did you read my love letter? did it touch your heart?  when you read my love letter.”  As soon as I heard this song, in my spirit I could hear that God’s word is His love letter to us, but how is it that we are responding to it, what are we doing with the love and the law that He has written to us?
God painstakingly utilized people, to write a lot more than 66 books of revelation but the Sanhedrin chose the 66 books that make up what we know as the Word of God or the Holy Bible.  Even with all of that it is 66 books packed with love, “HIS”tory, promises, wisdom, principles and commands or laws to live by.  But because God Himself is Love it is His Love letter to us that is filled with all of these extras that help to benefit our lives. But as I thought about how much we don’t know, we don’t take advantage of, and how many of us are so defeated because we feel unloved, unwanted, not taken care of, misunderstood, and poor in spirit, health, heart and finances, we are struggling because we do not take the time to know what the Word of God says in anyway, let alone understanding the Love of God and His promises towards us.  His word is the shelter that we can find and the refuge that we are often searching for and cannot find because we are looking for it in people, or things.  The Love of God through His Word is given to us to protect us and to correct us, it gives us a guide and a path, it even provides the light for the path that we must walk, but we do not know that because we do not take the time to search the Word of God and see what is in it that pertains to us and our situation. We don’t take a moment to see how much God loves us, and what He has given us.
Without knowing what God has given us, we will never know how to respond, we will never know if we can, should or how to respond.  If we have an admirer and they are out their but we only know that they say they love us but they have outlined their love in letters, poems, and journal form but we never open them to find out who it is that loves us, how much they love us and what that loves contains; how can we respond?  How can we react? How can we take advantage of what is being given?  We cannot.  God has given us the greatest love letter, the greatest book of vows and promise that His love provides, but it is no good to us unless we read it, unless we crack its pages. Our life and the way we live our life depends on what we know that comes out of the Word of God.  It will be hard for us to know who we really are without knowing what the Word of God says about us, and How God loves us, and even how we are supposed to love and be loved.  There is a saying that says, “Our life is God’s gift to us, but what we make of our life is our gift to God.”  Make the best of what has been given you; know God and His love towards you through His love letter.  Then respond with authority, enthusiasm and zeal, because you have the tools and the knowledge to live a loving, empowered life!
